From the elder statesman of the Willamette Valley, the Wahle Vineyard boasts vines from early 1970’s. The Chardonnay is one of them. Grafted to Pinot Noir in the 1990’s, these Chardonnay vines resisted, popped off the Pinot Noir buds and proudly remained Chardonnay.
The Wahle Chardonnay is lovingly cared for by Ryan Kelly-Burnett. Our Assistant Winemaker absolutely loves making Chardonnay. He even reserves the “lees” from year to year, saving them for the next year’s Chardonnay fermentations. The rich, roundness coupled with long acidity makes this wine a must have for your cellar or table top.
